Everything from creating an account to exchanging phone numbers, including the questions we are asked most: what each status on your Likes means, why a contact number is sometimes hidden, and where the renewal link is.
The order matters: you cannot search until your membership is paid, and you cannot see anyone's phone number until they have responded to your Like.
Register with an email address and a password. Use an address you check — everything afterwards, including your renewal notice, goes there. One account per profile.
We send a confirmation link straight away, and you cannot sign in until you click it. If it has not arrived within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder, then use "Resend verification link" on the sign-in screen.
Searching, viewing profiles and sending Likes all need an active membership. Payment is handled by PayPal — you can pay by card on PayPal's own screen without creating a PayPal account. A Membership button stays in the top menu whenever your membership is not active, so you never need to wait for a pop-up.
Fifteen details are required before your profile counts as complete. Your dashboard lists exactly which ones are still blank and links straight to them. Note that "No" is a complete answer for Smoke and Drink — leaving them untouched is not.
Filter by age, location, education, diet and visa status. You can also set partner preferences so the site suggests profiles for you, and choose visa statuses you would rather your own profile stayed hidden from.
Open a profile and send a Like with a short message. You may tick Share my contact as you send it, which offers them your email and mobile number — and you can change that later either way.
Likes arrive under Likes Received with three choices: Accept if you are interested, Acknowledge if you want to know more before deciding, or Reject if you are not. Accept and Acknowledge both open the same next steps.
Once a Like is Accepted or Acknowledged, each of you gets a My Contact switch on that row. Turn yours on to let them see your email and mobile number. Theirs appears in the Their Contact column the moment they do the same.
Accepted and Acknowledged Likes also have a discussion box, useful for asking a question before deciding whether to share your number. Each person may send one message of up to 500 characters, and messages are removed after six months, after which a fresh discussion can be started.
These are the only four statuses a Like can have.
They have not responded yet.
Nothing to do but wait. They receive a reminder if a Like sits unanswered.
They are interested.
You can now share contact details and send a discussion message.
They have seen it and want to know more before deciding.
Not a yes, and not a no. You can share contact details and send a discussion message, exactly as with Accepted.
They are not taking this forward.
This is final. No contact sharing, no discussion, and no further Likes to that member.
Contact sharing has two independent switches — yours and theirs. Turning yours on does not reveal theirs.
Your switch. When it is on, the other member can see your email address and mobile number. You can turn it off again at any time.
Their switch, shown to you. Their details appear here only once they turn theirs on. Until then it reads Not shared yet.
So if a member has accepted your Like but you still cannot see a number, nothing is broken — they simply have not shared theirs yet. The site will never reveal anyone's contact details without their own consent, and our support team cannot override that. Use your discussion message to ask.
Worth knowing before you tap, because support cannot reverse these.
Rejecting a Like closes it for good. That member cannot send you another one, and it cannot be reopened. If you are unsure, choose Acknowledge instead — it keeps the conversation open without committing you to anything.
One message per person, per Like, up to 500 characters. It is not a chat thread, so put everything you want to ask in that one message.
You can send any given member only one Like, whatever its outcome. If you have already sent one you will see a message saying you have already sent them a Like, rather than a second chance.
The questions we are asked most, and what actually resolves them.
Check your spam, junk and promotions folders first — that is usually the answer. Then use "Resend verification link" on the sign-in screen. If the address you typed has a mistake in it you cannot correct it yourself, so please write to us and we will change it. Yahoo, Hotmail and Outlook filter us more aggressively than Gmail; adding our address to your contacts helps.
You almost certainly registered already. Please do not register again with a second email address — that creates a duplicate profile with no membership attached. Instead sign in with your original address (use "Forgot password" if you need to), then use the Membership button in the top menu to pay. If you have already ended up with two accounts, tell us which address you want to keep and we will merge them.
On PayPal's screen look for Pay with Debit or Credit Card — you do not need a PayPal account to use it. If your own PayPal account is locked and the card option does not appear either, contact us: we can take payment another way and activate your membership manually. If a payment seemed to go through but your membership still shows as inactive, please do not pay again — check your dashboard after a few minutes and contact us if nothing has changed.
Open Likes Sent on your dashboard and look at the Their Contact column for that row. If it reads "Not shared yet", they have not turned their own switch on — each side shares separately. If the status reads Declined, there is no contact to share.
Rejecting cannot be undone, and that member can no longer send you a Like. You can, however, send them a Like yourself — find their profile through Search and send one as normal. If they accept or acknowledge it, you will be able to share contact details from that new row.
The email lists the exact fields that are still blank — compare that list with your dashboard, which shows the same thing. The two most commonly missed are Maharashtra Mandal and About Myself. If a field the email names really is filled in on your profile, please reply to that email and we will look into it.
We email you a reminder 15 days, 7 days and 1 day before your membership expires, each with a Renew My Membership button. The Membership button in the top menu goes to the same place. Renewing early never costs you days — whatever time you have left is added to your new term, so there is no reason to wait until the last moment. Past payments are listed under View Payment History on the Membership tab.
Open the Membership tab on your dashboard and use View Payment History. It lists every payment against your account — date, package, term, amount, payment reference and status — so you have a record without needing to ask us. If a payment you made is missing from that list, send us the reference from your PayPal receipt and we will look into it.
Use the Deactivate my account link in the footer of any email we have sent you, or write to us and we will close it for you. Your profile stops appearing in searches straight away.
Use the Contact Us form. Please include the email address on your account, and the name of the member your question is about — that alone saves a day of back-and-forth.
Reshimgathee is run by volunteers of Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal. We read every message, and we would rather hear about a problem early than find out later.
